Prof. Dr. Ramazan Tuğrul Senger, a faculty member of our department, was granted an award as part of the University Industry Cooperation Projects Awards, organized for the first time this year by the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO).

Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Physics hosted the traditional 11th Dense Matter Physics-Izmir meeting on May 11, 2024. We extend our thanks to the Physics Department, our invited speakers, and everyone involved.

Prof. Dr. Göktuğ Karpat, Faculty Member at Department of Physics, Faculty of Arts and Science, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) has been awarded the ‘100^th Anniversary TUBITAK Incentive Award’, regarded as one of Turkey's most prestigious science awards.

We are pleased to share with you an exciting announcement! Our university has signed an Erasmus agreement with CLAUSTHAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY. This agreement aims to provide our students with opportunities for international experience and cultural exchange. In addition to France, negotiations for agreements with other countries are also in progress.

Senem Özdemir, who has been dreaming of becoming a pilot since childhood, graduated as the top student in the Department of Physics at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), which she started with the thought that she would never give up piloting even if she studied in another program. 

Dr. Parisa Majari came to visit our Physics Department. Dr. Majari who studied with Prof. Dr. Gürsoy Bozkurt Akgüç gave a seminar titled “Anamolous electron transfer in Graphene”.

Berfin Kolcu, a student of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Physics, went to Hatay, where thousands of people were under the rubble after the earthquake, and rushed to the aid of the victims with her ‘bike’. 

NEBULA rocket team, a branch of physics club  established by our students is now at the finals after  succesfully passing critical design stage in the air and space technology program of TEKNOFEST in İstanbul.
